Runaway Bay is in walking distance from the Historic Bridge Street, the Hub of entertainment in this wonderful beach community, a street where you can shop, dine, and play from beach to bay. The free trolley also makes a stop on Gulf Drive, right in front of Runaway Bay’s complex. Take the trolley to the beach or anywhere else you want to visit on the island without worrying about getting sand in your car. Visit downtown Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach, or any of the local restaurants or establishments. You can even jump on the trolley for just a scenic ride around the island! We had a fun week at Runaway as always. It was great having our family next door too. Love all the updates in both condos. We love Runaway Bay and have been going there for 30 something years.

One of the most updated units we've stayed in here. Very clean and comfortable King size bed. The pans were actually nice to cook on. Lots of beach chairs and supplies to enjoy the beach. There was one small cooler to fit about 4 cans but we had our own bigger cooler to use. Only thing was I thought there was a pull out couch and found out the couch didn't have a sleeper sofa. I would recommend this unit for a nice, comfortable stay!

The newly decorated condo is quite sufficient, it has all the basic needs. It’s located in the back of the complex, close to the bay. The beds are quite comfortable. My only complaint concerns the above unit. I assume it is not carpeted as every footstep can be heard.

We have enjoyed staying at Runaway Bay many times in the past and always go back. This time we were disappointed that the pool was closed for the whole month of our stay. We knew that it was due to be closed for 1 week for maintenance which would have been acceptable however we had to find out 3rd-hand that it would be for the whole month. No previous advice or explanation was forthcoming from the site office. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Great place for vacation. Check in and out was flawless. Beds were comfortable and condo had everything that we needed. We wish that the pool stayed open later than 7pm, because adults like to swim in the evenings. The walk in shower water would not get hot enough to use, but we used the tub/shower combo which worked great. We will use Best Beach Getaways again.
