La Dolce Vita

This house was a true getaway. Clean and beautifully decorated, all the amenities we needed, wrap around porches on both levels (perfect for watching thunderstorms, waking up with coffee, or relaxing in the evening), and a nice little backyard oasis. The location was excellent - shopping and dining within walking distance and a quick 5 minute walk to the beach with a lifeguard. A 20 minute drive will get you to the hustle and bustle of the harbor walk. Beach gear rental was convenient and Best Beach Getaways was easy to work with. Our plans changed and we wanted to extend our stay another night. It was after hours so I sent a message through the contact form and I was pleasantly surprised when I received a quick response and they added that extra night. It was a breeze! Our whole family enjoyed this stay and wished we didn’t have to leave.

The perfect place to stay for your family. Clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Close to the beach and in a great location. Would stay there again!

Our family trip to Destin was absolutely wonderful! The house was very well kept, beautiful and a great space for my family. My only suggestion for Best Beach Getaway’s would be to provide more than 1 skimpy blanket per bed. They did not even provide a single blanket for the pull out couch. We had to buy extra blankets at Walmart for the family because half of the group was cold all night on the first night. We were aware that we would need our own beach towels, but we weren’t expecting to buy blankets. Otherwise it was exactly what we were expecting?

We stayed in this home for a week at the end of June. The location is great, out the back door and maybe a 3 min walk to the beach? We used the VaKay Gear rental credit to get bikes and a trailer and were able to bike to local stores for anything we needed. I thought we'd use them to get to the beach but it was way closer than we thought it would be. The home itself is beautiful. We loved the porch and the balcony. So much natural light. Everything was clean and fairly well kept. It is a rental, so things aren't "perfect" but I would say that the condition of the home is a little better than what we expect from this kind of rental. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with utensils, cookware etc. There were some spices in the cupboard but no salt or pepper (at least when we got there). There was one roll of paper towels and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, so plan on stocking that yourself. Same with soap/shampoo. There is one travel size set per bathroom. Oh, there was no dish drainboard which was a little bit of a nuisance since we generally let everything air dry but the counter and a towel worked fine too. The only issue we has was that when we arrived, the first floor was pretty warm but upstairs was cool. After a couple of days with the temp downstairs not getting below 79, I called for service. It was later in the day when I made the call and management had someone out late morning the next day to fix the issue and we were good for the rest of the week. If you happen to have this place reserved over the same week next year, feel free to cancel because we'd LOVE to come back!

House was great. Amenities and accommodations were awesome. Surrounding neighborhood/area very convenient and within short walking to beach.

We loved our stay! Plenty of space, beautiful double wrap around porch, front and backyard space for kids/dog, open kitchen/dining and three whole bathrooms made for a very comfortable stay. Amazing location with a short walk to the beach, a great cafe across the street, and right by grocery stores. We will definitely stay again!
